.... we've created a new way to learn about geometry. Our main 'tool' is a hands-on color coded modeling system. Take them apart, put them back together, learn along the way. This is our project blog. Check out our about us or see more by clicking the square avatars of our host sites below. Got an icebreaker? Reach out with tumblrs' ask function. Or shoot us an email at newtoolslab@gmail.com. Cheers!
The Gretel Map with the 50 direction of the center family. The directions are defined through their intersection with the vector equilibrium. More @ flickr.
The Gretel Map with golden ratio directions (red). Then the Gretel Map inside the first limit of the 6BB vector equilibrium (right). -gf
All the structures in this photo fit inside that big blue cube up at the top. All the round dot pins indicate the ‘directions in common’. Fabiano Schwalb made auto cad illustrations of these models. You can see them @ flickr, click through. -gf
The triacontahedron (orange) and the vector equilibrium (blue and yellow) have sides that touch. The middle slide shows how that’s true with the diamond outline on the square face.
Tangent means touching. I just relearned that. Yay tangent friends! -gf
